Mana Kāpō

He Māori katoa a mātou kaimahi whānau, e tino matatau ana ki te whakarato I nga ratonga tuturu ki te kaupapa Māori.

Mana Kāpō ensures that Māori people receive support in a way that is appropriate to their cultural values.

Mana Kāpō staff, called Aronga, have a sound knowledge of Te Reo Māori and Tikanga and support members in their relationship with RNZFB staff and services.

Mana Kāpō aims to raise awareness of blindness and blindness prevention within the Māori community by running blindness awareness and prevention programmes in schools and on marae.

We have also produced factsheets in Māori on the main eye conditions and how to prevent losing your sight.

There are currently six Aronga throughout Aotearoa. They are based in Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Gisborne, Palmerston North and Christchurch. For more information please phone 0800 24 33 33 and ask to speak with your closest Aronga, or email: manakapo
