Change of any kind is always stressful. The RNZFB has professionally trained support staff who work with adult and young members and their families on issues like self-esteem, handling change, stress, isolation and relationships.

Peer support programmes are all about building confidence, challenging perceived barriers and people being there for each other, not just during the time spent on an activity but also once they return to their day-to-day lives.

These support networks help RNZFB members and their families to manage the impact of vision loss with dignity and self-respect.

Peer Support programmes include career adventures, skiing trips, outdoor pursuits, music camps, social clubs, drama, sport and cultural programmes.
