Association of Blind Citizens of New Zealand (ABC NZ)

Founded in 1945 by blind and vision-impaired people themselves, the ABC NZ offers peer support while at the same time promoting social, economic and political opportunities for NZ's blind and vision-impaired citizens. ABC NZ is the oldest and largest disability consumer organisation. The ABC NZ has a national office and 16 geographical branches throughout the country.

Philosophy: "Blind people speaking for ourselves."
