Red Puppy Appeal 4 - 6 April 2008
It's time to give power to the puppies!
Red puppies that is, training to become guide dogs.
We hope you had fun doing the paw stomping, furry, fluffy red puppy beat this year. You raised a staggering $1 million and we're still counting! A woofin' big thanks from guide dog puppy Stella and her friends.
Thousands of volunteer collectors were out and about in shopping malls, supermarkets and CBDs throughout New Zealand to raise funds for the RNZFB's Guide Dog Services. Our appreciation for everyone who lended a paw during the appeal knows no limits and we are always in awe of the time and money that you give to our appeal.
The Red Puppy Appeal is all about giving power to the puppies so, as guide dogs, they can empower blind, deafblind and vision-impaired New Zealanders. You might have seen our puppies around - they're the ones in the red coats that guide dog puppies in training wear.
Visit the Red Puppy Appeal website to find out more, and learn about how you can help our red puppies. Each of our red puppies cost over $22, 500 to breed, raise, train and match and need as much help as possible.
The difference a guide dog makes in a blind, deafblind or
vision-impaired person's life is immeasurable, opening up a whole new
world. Find out more about guide
dogs and the RNZFB's Guide Dog Services.
