The clinics will be run by Blind Sport swim coaches and will be held in other regions as numbers grow. Contact Blind Sport to register. Winter and summer training camps will be held for serious competitive athletes. These will lead to IBSA World Championships next year in USA (Youth) and in Brazil.
As a lead up to these IBSA events, and to provide opportunities, a group of athletes will compete in the USABA Sports Festival in August and in the Colorado State Games.
The 2006 Sports School was a success according to those who attended. So much so, they want more. The 2007 Sports School has been booked and registrations are now open. For more information see the Blind Sport website: www.blindsport.org.nz or contact Blind Sport on 09 275 1635. NOW is the time!

'More than meets the eye'
When the world focuses on our abilities instead of our disabilities, there is no limit to what we can achieve. Author Yvette Adams makes this point without ever having to use these words.
She has written a book called "More than Meets the Eye" which is the story of her vision-impaired grandfather Bill Adams. Despite a serious vision impairment and difficult childhood, Bill affectionately known as "Googa", was a success in life.
He won nine lightweight wrestling titles from 1946-1956, raised a loving family, and became a real estate whiz in Wellington. The book will be in bookstores from 1 August. For more information visit www.morethanmeetstheeye.co.nz
