Deafblind NZ Inc AGM/Conference will be held in Auckland.
At the RNZFB, Recreation Centre, entrance from 545 Parnell Road, Parnell (do not use the main entrance to Awhina House).
The AGM/Conference will be:

11 June 9am – 5pm
12 June 9am – 12.30pm

Association of Blind Citizens of New Zealand Inc
The ABC Wellington Seminar was held 16 and 17 May. Focusing on "An Accessible Society", this annual event culminated in a small function at Parliament House, hosted by Hon Ruth Dyson, Minister for Disability Issues.
The theme for our annual Conference is "Taking Charge" and will be held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Auckland, 7 - 9 October. The June issue of Focus will provide details about guest speakers.
Ngāti Kāpo O Aotearoa
Ngāti Kāpo o Aotearoa's national biennial conference is to be held 18-20 November 2005 in Christchurch.
All members of Ngāti Kāpo will be receiving information regarding the conference over the next couple of months.
The conference will include the election of the national executive.

Parents of Vision Impaired New Zealand (PVI)
PVI recently attended the South Pacific Educators of the Vision Impaired (SPEVI) conference in Melbourne, here we assisted the Australian parents establish the Australian Association of Parents of Vision Impaired.
A National Training weekend was recently held at Homai; parents received training in the role of the "Resource Teacher Vision".
Community Workshop (days or evenings) are taking place around the country for parents and caregivers.

Blind Sport
The International Blind Sports Association (IBSA) is holding their General Assembly and World Blind Sports Conference 5-12 June in Beijing, China.

- Assisting members in their rehabilitation plan.
- Planning future service requirements for members.
- Setting up Support Groups.
- Consulting with Government Agencies for funding.
- Reporting to Government annual statistics.
- Establishing priorities for and conducting research.
