The annual peer support North Island ski trip was held this year in early September. Twelve blind and vision-impaired students from all over the North Island gathered at National Park in the Central Plateau for three adventurous days of skiing and fun. This was a great chance for some to develop their skiing skills and a first time experience for others. All who attended had a great time skiing, catching up with old friends and making new ones.

The second leadership programme of its kind, organised by RNZFB peer support team was held from 1-3 October at Papamoa, Bay of Plenty. Ten North Island-based students attended the programme to learn new skills and participate in team-building exercises. Students enjoyed the activities which included pizza-making, learning how to guide each other in safe and practical ways, discussions on leadership, swimming, board games and tenpin bowling. The programme was hugely successful and will be held again.
