ABC NZ's 2004 large print calendars are now available and can be purchased from our national office (see page 22 for contact details). A reminder that applications to the Cyril White Fund close on 1 February 2004. Blind Sport New Zealand

Blind Sport New Zealand are thrilled that members Daniel Sharp and Mark Symon were successful during the International Blind Sports Federation World Championships held in August in Quebec, Canada. Fifteen-year-old swimmer Daniel Sharp won a silver in 200m freestyle and bronze in 400m freestyle. Sprinter Mark Symon finished 5th in 400m and 11th overall in the 200m. Congratulations to both Daniel and Mark - we look forward to following your future successes.

Parents of Vision Impaired New Zealand (PVI)

Greetings everyone. Our 2003 Conference took place at Massey University, Palmerston North on 11-13 July. Our thanks go to more than 50 parents who attended in support. One of the many highlights was the panel and focus group discussion. Many of the suggestions resulting from this discussion have been incorporated into our Strategic Plan focus for the year 2003/2004. Thankfully, and with the support of the RNZFB, PVI will be able to provide Parent Education Workshops around New Zealand from March to May 2004. Watch this space for more exciting updates from PVI!

Retina New Zealand Inc

Following our recent AGM in Wellington we welcome our new president Kaye Newton from Christchurch and Camille Guy from Auckland as vice president. We welcome new members including people with some sight loss who are not eligible for Foundation membership. Annual subs are $5 (unwaged) and $10 (waged). For more information, please see our contact details on page 22.
