Blind Sport
The IBSA World Youth Championships in Colorado Springs, USA, were held 4-9 August 2005.
Our representatives were Daniel Sharp, Laingholm (Paralympic Bronze Medal winner) in swimming and Scott Siakia, Hamilton in track and field.
The two New Zealand youths returned triumphant from the competition with 17 year old Daniel dominating his entry events by winning six gold medals and a silver in swimming. And first time international competitor, 15 year old Scott achieved a personal best on the track, coming 5th in the 100 metre final. Congratulations to them both!
