Deafblind NZ Inc
Desmond, a deafblind British citizen with Usher Type 1 successfully kicked off a new worldwide e-mail group in July. The group is primarily for those with Usher's but is also useful for their friends and family. The aim is to support the growing global network of people with Usher's by promoting awareness and understanding about Ushers as well as news, gossip, politics, etc.

Gabriel Trust Xmas
The Gabriel Trust is pleased to announce that Dame Malvina Major will be the principal soloist in this year's Pulsedata Festival of Christmas concert. Others taking part will include Auckland Choral, St Matthews Chamber Orchestra, the Auckland Girls Choir and blind or vision impaired soloists. Performances in Holy Trinity Cathedral Pamell will be on Saturday 4 December at 7.30 pm and Sunday 5 December at 2.00 pm.
Ticketing arrangements will be announced shortly. The Trust will donate $6 on every adult ticket sold to the Foundation.

Blind sailing school
Bay of Plenty's Trailer Yacht Squadron Blind and VIP Sailing Group invites you to attend the 2004 national Blind and VIP sailing school to be held over Labour Weekend (24th-26th October 2004). The venue is Cherry Bay (lake and road access), Lake Rotoiti, Rotorua. The entry fee: $25.00 per head; or $50.00 per family (due to limited numbers late entries may be declined).
You will need to bring your own tent/camper or be prepared to sleep in the communal marquee and supply your own sleeping bag/bedding, camp stretcher or air mattress.
Food can be purchased at a cost of: $6 per person for a cooked breakfast and $10 per person for the evening meal (BBQ). Or you can provide your own food and there will be refrigeration facilities available. Special food and medication are your own responsibility.
If you have your own yacht or are able to obtain a yacht please feel free to bring it along.

NZ VIEW (New Zealand Vision Impaired Empowering Women)
Our aim is to promote the interests and well being of women who are blind or vision-impaired.
We have new branches in New Plymouth, Palmerston North and Kapiti and we will be looking at starting more in the South Island. We held our biennial conference in Wellington during August.

Retina New Zealand Inc
Retina NZ's national AGM will be held on 18 September in Christchurch, where reports will be given on the recent Retina International Congress.
Retina NZ is a partner in the 2004 SOS (Save Our Sight Campaign). The Kapiti VIPS meet monthly in Paraparaumu, and the Manawatu Support Group meets in Palmerston North. For information phone the Peer Support line on 0800 233 833.
SEYFF
Over the last three months, we held our first Sports Clinic (in June), and also held our second AGM (in August). We thank all those who came along and encourage new members to come and take a peek at what this group will be offering over the next 12 months.
