Blind Sport
Blind Sport held its second annual Sports School programme from 20-24 January. It was an opportunity for blind and vision-impaired youth to have a go at seven different sports under the guidance of experienced coaches. This year Judo, athletics, swimming, football, goalball, powerlifting and tenpin bowling were available.
A highlight of the Sports School was to see the progress made by those athletes who attended the 2006 programme.
Trophies were awarded to those who had made the most progress, tried most of the sports and challenged themselves to be the best they could. The trophy for athletics was awarded to Áine Kelly-Costello. The swimming trophy to both Rachel Shardlow (B4) and Daniel Holt (B3). Two new trophies were awarded this year for overall achievement and went to Áine Kelly-Costello and Ming Ming Edgar (B1). Everyone involved went home with better skills, exhausted and eager for more sport. A big thank you to all the coaches involved who made it possible.

CCTV in Tauranga Library
The Foundation's Tauranga Community Committee has installed a CCTV in the Tauranga library with the support of the Tauranga Rotary and HumanWare. Members who do not have their own CCTV now have access to one and can read personal information themselves without relying on other people. The initiative has been well received by all involved.
