1,200 New Zealanders go blind or experience serious vision loss each year

11,700 – the number of blind, deafblind and vision-impaired RNZFB members, aged 0-107

    Under 20         7%

    Aged 80+        52%

$22 million – the annual cost of providing essential services, and only one-third comes from Government sources

$1 million must be raised during Blind Week (23-29 October)

The Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind (RNZFB) is New Zealand’s primary provider of vision-related rehabilitation services for blind, deafblind and vision-impaired people, and nearly all of our services are provided at no cost to members. 

Our services include:
•    Supporting everyday activities
•    Helping members find their way around
•    Participating in the community
•    Reading and writing in audio, braille and other formats
•    Specific services for Māori, Pacific peoples, deafblind members, children and students
