Workshop 2 - Conversations of Possibilities
The Board want to position the Foundation for sustainability and excellence in 2020. On 1 March we began a journey to shape the future direction and purpose of the Foundation of the Blind. This workshop was the first step in helping the Board determine that direction. A second workshop will be held on 14 June. Nominations have now closed and invitation letters will be sent out shortly.
Since the 1 March workshop, focus groups have met to come up with ideas for the Foundation of the future in 2020. These ideas are told as 'stories'. The stories should not be read as the view of particular individuals but as the presentation of collective ideas. The Foundation would like to thank all those who contributed ideas during this process. Their names are listed as an appendix to the stories. Thank you each and every one!
This message provides you with the information that supports the next workshop - 'Conversations of Possibilities'. Follow the links below to read the notes for the workshop online, or download a copy in Microsoft Word, large print or full-text DAISY. The notes contain a brief introduction followed by five stories. There is also a brief section on ideas that came out of the Strategic Leadership Institute course and an appendix with the names of the participants in the groups.
A sixth story, entitled "Human Services – service or support?", was provided by Jo Kersey, Dennis Wells, Sue Thoms, Gaynor Edgar, Pauline Rowe, Chrissie Cowan and Mana Kāpō. This is also available by following the links below.
If you are not attending the workshop you are welcome to provide feedback on the stories through the usual channels, as described in the attachment. If you wish to provide feedback please make sure your comments reach us by 10 June.
