The third 2020 workshop - Sustaining our Future - was held on 6 September.
The focus of the workshop was ‘considering the possibilities’ and used the content of the Analysis Group report as a starting point.
The next steps are:
- Feedback from the workshop, along with the findings of the Analysis Group's report, will be used as the basis for a formal consultation document.
- Feedback from the consultation will be collated and used to inform an options paper for the Board. The options paper will also be supported by financial modelling.
- The Board will consider the options paper and then decide the best path to take the RNZFB forward towards 2020.

Background
In March this year, the Foundation launched RNZFB 2020: Sustaining our Future. We're undertaking this far-reaching project to consider what the Foundation and its services might look like in 2020.
It’s a vital piece of work for the organisation as financial analysis to the year 2020 shows us that we cannot continue to deliver services in the way we do today. In fact, by 2020 the Foundation would face an annual operating deficit of $10 million.
We have time to change but the Foundation needs to find ways to do things differently.
The project was launched on 1 March with a workshop involving all our key stakeholders: members, Board members, staff, consumer organisations, volunteers and donors. This was just the beginning.
As we go forward, all documents relating to RNZFB 2020 will be posted on this section of the website, to help you keep up to date with how we are getting on.
