Civil defence emergency information

In a major disaster there could be a large number of people affected and not enough rescuers. The Ministry of Civil Defence and the RNZFB encourage all members to be prepared for such an emergency.

The information in the new resource, 'If a disaster happened now, would you be ready?', is aimed at improving understanding of the types of hazards that can happen in New Zealand, with civil defence advice on what to do to be better prepared.

The Ministry of Civil Defence has produced the brochure in accessible formats in partnership with the RNZFB.

Read the brochure in your preferred accessible format:

You can also listen to it on the telephone information service menu 7 7.

Alternatively you can contact our library to receive a copy of the brochure in DAISY audio CD, audio cassette or braille.
