Poems in the waiting room

6 September 2011

RNZFB members will soon have their finger on the poetry pulse with Poems in the Waiting Room getting transcribed in braille.

Poems in the Waiting Room is a Dunedin based arts in health charity, with the aim of providing a free source of well-chosen poetry for patients waiting for medical appointments, rest home residents, hospice patients and their families etc. The poems include those from contemporary poets (especially New Zealand writers), older poems, and poems for children.

The poems will be transcribed into braille and available at the main RNZFB offices and the Association of Blind Citizens head office. The poems will also be available via e-text by emailing library@rnzfb.org.nz
