Brainstorm about Blindness
Write the word "blindness" on the blackboard and ask students to contribute their ideas and feelings about the word - accept all contributions without discussion or comment initially.
Use these ideas as either a group or class discussion on the following questions –
- What are our attitudes towards blindness, deafblindness and vision-impairment?
- What do we actually know about blindness, deafblind and vision-impairment?
- What are some of the ways we can go blind or damage our eyesight?
This discussion may lead to the next activity or to further discussion.
