Community Education and Awareness
Community Education and Awareness staff work to promote a blindness-aware society. This includes providing employer awareness training programmes.
The Foundation also delivers eye health and blindness prevention campaigns in partnership with other organisations. This includes exhibiting at health related conferences, community disability days, health expos, eye industry seminars, disability equipment days, etc.
The Foundation provides advice on environmental design and access issues to developers, local authorities, government agencies and transport planners.
It also contributes to various committees and makes submissions to the government and district health boards on policies and legislation.
