What should I ask my doctor?

  1. What is my diagnosis?
  2. What caused my condition?

  11. What are the benefits of this treatment and how successful is it?
  12. What are the risks and side effects associated with this treatment?
  13. Are there foods, drugs, or activities I should avoid while I'm on this treatment?
  14. If my treatment includes taking medicine, what should I do if I miss a dose?
  15. Are other treatments available?
  16. What kinds of tests will I have?
  17. What can I expect to find out from these tests?
  18. When will I know the results?
  19. Do I have to prepare for any of these tests?

Some tips to keep your eyes healthy

  1. Check your eyes regularly, at least once every two years
  2. Protect your eyes from the damaging UV light by wearing sunglasses
  3. Monitor your blood pressure and exercise regularly
  4. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
  5. If you have diabetes monitor your blood sugar level
  6. Do not smoke! If smoking - quit!
