Partnering with schools
There are many of ways in which schools can partner with us. All it takes is a willingness to talk, learn and help!
Schools can:
- Fundraise for one of our annual appeals, like Blind Week or Red Puppy Appeal
- Learn more about blindness
- Discover more about the work we do by visiting our guide dog centre or touring one of our offices
In turn, we can:
- Acknowledge fundraising
- Provide resources and interesting information about blindness
- May be able to organise a guest speaker
Case study
ACG Parnell College partners with RNZFB through 'InVision'. InVision group was created through a group of senior students and parents coming together with the aim of learning more about blindness, while raising awareness about the Foundation and helping out with our appeals. InVision and the RNZFB have expressed their partnership since 2009 by:
- Year seven and eight social science students learning about blindness
- A Blind Walk around the Auckland Domain with RNZFB member, runner and author Rob Matthews
- A joint RNZFB and ACG Parnell College team completing the Round the Bays fun run
- ACG Parnell staff consulting with RNZFB staff over educational resources for schools
- ACG Parnell students being involved in the 2010 Red Puppy Appeal
- Guest speakers from the RNZFB speaking at school events
