How can volunteers help?
You could help by volunteering in one of the following roles and programmes.
RNZFB services for members
- Being a volunteer driver for RNZFB members.
- Helping members learn how to use talking book machines and order books from the RNZFB's library.
- Providing support for RNZFB services such as reading news for the RNZFB's Telephone Information Service (TIS).
- Providing one-to-one support for members or being part of a telephone tree.
- Supporting other members through peer support activities.
- Organising recreation and social activities.
- Getting involved in local a community committee or member support group.
Help a guide dog
- Become a puppy walker.
- Volunteer as a breeding stock guardian.
- Help out as a kennel assistant.
- Board a guide dog.
Fundraising
- Helping with local fundraising projects.
- Organising fundraising events.
- Collecting in one of the RNZFB's annual appeals: Red Puppy Appeal or Blind Week.
