Adoption agreement

If you wish to adopt one of our guide dogs, you'll need to sign an agreement stating that you will take full care and responsibility for the dog's health, welfare and security.

  • The dog must be registered and vaccinated annually.
  • The dog must not be used as a guide dog for a blind person and the dog must live inside as a member of the family.
  • You must be a New Zealand resident.
  • If you decide to adopt a dog it is expected that a donation of between $300 and $600 will be made to our guide dog services (all donations are tax-deductable).
