Meet the Executives

Sandra BuddSandra Budd, Chief Executive

Sandra has proven herself a leader in New Zealand and Australian health sectors with over 38 years of experience.  She began her health career as a registered nurse and midwife and remained at the frontlines of service for over 20 years before moving into general management. Sandra drives us in our new strategic direction around service delivery redesign, partnerships and financial sustainability.

Alison Wheatley, Executive Director Supporter Marketing and Fundraising

Alison WheatleyAlison has twenty years of experience and a wide exposure to all facets of brand building, marketing management and team leadership. She's worked in international consumer goods, services and retail companies, including Lion Nathan and Nestle. With her team, Alison focuses on building a lifetime relationship with RNZFB's supporters and donors. 

Greg HurnGreg Hurn, Executive Director Shared Services

Greg has a wealth of experience in finance, customer services, production, service delivery and administration. He’s worked in the manufacturing, banking and telecommunications industries. Before joining us Greg spent 15 years with Yellow Pages holding various executive positions in finance and operations. Greg’s aim is to ensure we are financially sound and sustainable over the long term horizon. He looks after our finances, contracts, strategy and planning, performance, governance and business development initiatives.

Neil Jarvis, Executive Director Access and Innovation 

Neil JarvisNeil has more than 20 years of experience in the disability sector in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He's worked in consulting and project management, established new businesses and run his own business for a number of years providing consulting services around IT accessibility. A key part of Neil’s work is to support clients and members lead independent lives by providing accessible information and creating innovative solutions that improve their environment.

Peter Swanson, Executive Director Culture, Engagement and Improvement

Peter Swanson

Peter has a broad range of experience in culture change, strategic human resources, organisational development and management consultancy. Before starting with us, Peter headed human resources at New Zealand Post’s Postshop and Kiwibank retail business. Peter’s focus lies within three areas: leading a team that will ensure the RNZFB communicates and engages positively with internal and external stakeholder groups; building organisational capability through culture and workforce development; and ensuring the RNZFB is continually improving to best meet the needs of those we provide services for. Peter is committed to developing a culture of improvement that enhances our customer service and maximises the capability and talents of our employees and volunteers.

Teresa Bradfield, Executive Director Client Services

Teresa BradfieldTeresa Bradfield joined us following an extensive career in acute and primary health care at executive level. She has worked in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. With expertise in general management and professional practice at a senior level, Teresa complements the strategic direction that we are taking. Teresa has focussed intensely on the preparation and introduction of the new service model, leading the team responsible for providing direct client service provision for blindness rehabilitation.
