Our organisation

We are a non-profit organisation that strives to empower and support our members to ensure they have the same opportunities and choices as everyone else.

Our work

We provide a wide range of member services, as well as a number of business services. We also do a lot of policies and advocacy work.

Our people

We are here for our clients and members and our staff and volunteers make a valuable difference. We also work closely with community committees, other consumer organisations and corporate partners and supporters.

Our structure

Our organisation is spread across six key portfolios. We are led by an Executive Team and governed by a Board of Directors.

Our governance

We are governed by our own members and abide by the RNZFB Act 2002 and our Constitution.

Our strategic direction

We have a clear strategic direction. We have set ourselves a vision and abide by our values and guiding principles.

Our heritage

For over a hundred years we have strived to empower and support members to deal with blindness and achieve their potential. See our timeline of history and how far we've come.

Our future plans

We have recently developed a Strategic Plan  that outlines our plans for the next six years. Our Business Plan outlines in more detail how we plan to achieve these objectives.

Our performance

Our annual reports highlight our financial statements and achievements for the years in review.

Our policies and advocacy

We do a lot of policy and advocacy work to inform and educate others about the challenges blind and partially sighted people face in a visual world. We have also created a booklet called Seeing Justice Done.

Our partnerships

We work closely with other consumer organisations for the benefit of blind and partially sighted people. Our community communities are often the front face of the RNZFB. We also work closely with our corporate partners and supporters.
