Staff training

The benefits of your staff being aware of the needs of blind and partially sighted customers are many.

Increased awareness provides greater customer satisfaction, increased customer base, improved public relations, demonstration of commitment to social responsibility and customer care.

We provide individually tailored professional training courses ranging from an hour to a day. Organisations such as rest homes, transport companies and banks have received training in successfully interacting with blind or partially sighted patrons.

Case Study: Veolia Transport

Disability Awareness Training workshops have been specially developed for use by Veolia Transport Auckland for all onboard customer service staff.

The workshops were split into two parts. The first session offered information on the five main eye conditions that lead to blindness in New Zealand and also provided hints and tips on how to interact with blind and partially sighted passengers. The second session of the awareness training workshop was more practical and was conducted on the platforms and trains at Britomart Transport Centre where attendees put into practice the interaction tips learnt in the first session.
