The Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind (RNZFB) is the country’s main provider of sight loss habilitation and rehabilitation services to over 11,500 blind and partially sighted New Zealanders.

We equip our members with the adaptive skills, technology and resources they need to overcome the barriers they face to participating fully in society and leading independent lives.

Our vision is to empower and support blind and partially sighted people to ensure they have the same opportunities and choices as everyone else.

Happy Birthday Louis Braille
On this day (4 January) in 1809, Louis Braille was born. After becoming blind in an accident at a young age, he invented braille, a simple system of raised dots read by touch.
